Okay so I need to vent! I know that my blogs are not the best in the world, but it kills me that someone can do a blog about the clothes she bought at the thrift store and have more readers. I could understand if she was giving tips, but all she is doing is taking pictures of her self in the outfits she gets and telling everyone how much she spent.
I am not bashing her blog by no means, simply I don't understand why a bunch of people follow some of the blogs they do, and I have been blogging on my one blog for years, and don't even have 100 followers.
Okay, so maybe someone can give me some input as to what I am doing wrong.

I often wonder the same thing. I have seen blogs like you mentioned and seen where some have over 1000 followers. How? I don't know. I am gaining daily views and followers by linking up to a LOT of other blogs. I do over 100 weekly link ups and that helps. Do you link up with other blogs? Do you have a facebook page?
I did read once that if you make people do the catcha thing, they are more prone to NOT leave comments. I turned it off and now have to approve comments and I have over 600 comments now on only 70 posts.
I agree, people are more prone not to leave messages on blogs that have captcha text engaged. You can always set it up for comment approval and then you know when someone has left a comment.
To gain more followers you can link up to blog hops. There are a lot of them out there. Or help promote other blog's giveaways and that will bring readers to your blog.
There are so many ways to achieve the higher numbers, but regardless of how high your numbers are, in the end, you have to have good content to continue to bring the readers back--or the numbers don't mean anything.

Hi, I'm not sure why people follow some blogs. I just try to visit blogs and be friendly and link up to other blog hops when I can.
I'm not so much concerned about followers as about having people comment on my blog.
